Alessandra holds a Political Science Degree from the Italian University L.U.I.S.S., and a master in International Relations with a specialization in International Public Law from the Geneva Graduate Institute of International Studies (IUHEI).
She has been with UNCTAD since 1991, first as an Associate Expert on Training, then as a Public Information Officer.
In 2003 she joined the SITE Division as a Trainer; from 2004 to 2006, she was in charge of the SITE Human Resources Development Section, and in 2007, she has been designated Chief of the Section.
Activities: Management and coordination of the Section's activities, project backstopping and management (particularly for South-East Asia, Latin America), relations with member countries and partner ports, preparation and coordination of institutional inputs, communication.

Christina holds an International Relations Degree from the Portuguese University Lusíada, and a Post-graduate diploma in European Studies (economics) from the University of Law of Coimbra. Before joining UNCTAD in October 2007, she worked for seven years in the Department of International Economic Relations of the Portuguese Ministry of Economy where she was in charge of issues related to the European Community Trade Policy and the International Trade Relations in the framework of WTO, UNCTAD and OECD. Previously, she has been an intern for the European Commission.
Activities: She supports the HRD Section in the framework of the TrainForTrade programme for Portuguese-speaking countries; she also contributes to the management and implementation of the Port Training Programme and to the organisation of meetings and seminars in the field and in Geneva.

Dominique holds an advanced degree in computer sciences, with an emphasis on software development, distance learning and artificial intelligence from the University of Maine, France. After spending two years teaching digital electronics and computer maintenance in a technical high school in Cote-d'Ivoire, he became network administrator of the five-country African Distance Learning Network (RESAFAD). He joined UNCTAD in 1999, where he developed the UNCTAD distance learning strategy, and implemented distance learning activities in many developing countries, specially the least developed.

Emilie Dairon

Emilie is graduated from the Institute of Political Studies of Paris. She has a Master in International Administration (University Paris II) and a BA in History (Universty Paris X). Emilie has several internship experiences in the field of international cooperation (French Embassy in Guatemala, decentralized cooperation). She started working with UNCTAD in 2006 with the e-Tourism Initiative. She joined the TrainForTrade team in December 2007.

Evelyn joined UNCTAD's ASYCUDA (Automated Systems for Customs Data) programme in 1982 and came to TrainForTrade in 2001. She has worked for several technical assistance projects and programmes and is now Economic Affairs Officer at the TrainForTrade programme.
Activities: Technical cooperation activities for Latin America, Advisory group in the field of HRD and Training & Capacity-Building.

Gonzalo's background is in Telecommunications and Information Technology. Before joining UNCTAD in august 2006, he worked in the private sector designing and deploying Data Transmission Networks. Working for the TrainForTrade programme, he is administering the web server learn.unctad.org, participated in TrainForTrade Course Development and Course Delivery. He has bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering and a Master degree on Conception and Architecture of Networks.

Katharina studied quantitative economics with a focus on international trade in Germany (Kiel University) and France (Sorbonne Paris). Katharina has experiences as a tutor for statistics and internship experiences in the field economics of education (IREDU, Dijon ñ France). She joined TrainForTrade in September 2009 and currently provides assistance in the development of the Training Programme for Angola.

Mark holds an Advanced Degree in Economics with specialisation in Enterprises from the Free University of Brussels (Belgium). Before joining the UNCTAD SITE Division in 1998, he worked in the private sector, where he developed his expertise in management and trade. His work in the TrainForTrade programme includes three years in the field as an associate regional expert in West & Central Africa.
Activities: Pedagogical and training aspects of TrainForTrade courses, especially relating to distance learning implementation as well as the development of the Port Training Programme for the French, Portuguese and English–speaking networks in African port communities.

Sabrina holds a translation degree from the École de Traduction et d'Interprétation (ETI) of the University of Geneva and a M.phil in European Studies. She joined the TFT programme in 1999 and has been working with African countries and regional organizations on the implementation of technical assistance projects and activities. Before joining UNCTAD, she worked for the Department of the Public Information, Visitors' Service, of the United Nations Office in Geneva. Previously she worked as a free-lance translator.
Activities: Management and backstopping of technical cooperation activities for African countries and regional organizations. Oversees course development in the field of sustainable tourism.

Training Expert (Angola) Nuno Fortunato holds a Masters Degree in Development and International Cooperation from the School of Economics and Management (ISEG), Technical University of Lisbon. Before joining UNCTAD in October 2008, Nuno worked for 4 years as Project Manager in the private sector, preparing and submitting applications and proposals for international technical assistance projects, and also collaborating in the execution and backstopping of these multilaterally funded Aid to Development projects. Previously, he worked for more than 3 years as Internationalization Support Adviser in the Directorate General for International Economic Relations of the Portuguese Ministry of Economy, collaborating in the implementation of SME internationalization supporting projects.
Activities: Coordinating and ensuring the project implementation by guaranteeing the liaison between the different stakeholders (Government and national entities, UNCTAD and EU) and supporting the deliverance of the capacity building (technical assistance) and training activities (workshops, distance learning sessions).

Manuel Julio Sayongo (Jujú) holds a Degree in International Relations from the Minho University, after having studied Sociology for two years in the same Portuguese university. Complementarily, Juju participated in two courses on Political Systems and Electoral Processes, organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, in Germany, having also attended various courses on Commerce, organized by the WTO and the UNCTAD, in Africa and in Europe. Juju worked as Director General of an Angolan Institution for two years (2004 to 2006). From the end of 2006 to 2008 he worked as Adviser of the Minister of Commerce, in the Ministry of Commerce in Angola. Juju collaborates with TrainForTrade since the end of 2007, having accumulated his work as Adviser of the Minister with the job of National Coordinator of the Program TrainForTrade/Angola until October 2008. Since then he is fully dedicated to the TrainForTrade/Angola program.

Komira is a computer science graduate from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Before joining UNCTAD as a consultant, he was responsible for website development, database design and computer maintenance of a project coordinated by the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce.
