Como parte del ciclo de capacitación de la UNCTAD/TrainForTrade y dando continuidad al exitoso lanzamiento del Programa de Capacitación portuaria en el puerto de Callao, Perú, donde se difundieron los módulos 1 y 2 en Agosto 2009, actualmente se organiza la difusión del módulo 3, del 9 al 23 de Noviembre y del módulo 4, del 23 de Noviembre al 7 de Diciembre de este año.

No âmbito das suas actividades de formação para o reforço das capacidades angolanas em matéria de políticas comerciais, o programa TrainForTrade da CNUCED irá organizar, nas instalações do Ministério do Comércio de Angola em Luanda, um seminário de formação sobre as "Capacidades Produtivas, o Crescimento Económico e a Redução da Pobreza nos PMA ao exemplo de Angola" entre os dias 5 a 10 de Novembro de 2009.

In the framework of its training activities to strengthen Angolan capacities in the field of trade policies, the UNCTAD TrainForTrade programme will hold a workshop on Productive Capacities, Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction in LDC with the example of Angola. The seminar will take place from 5th to 10th of November 2009 at the Ministry of Commerce in Luanda, Angola.

A consultation workshop on the role of consumer protection law and policy in development was organized in Lao PDR on 22nd October 2009, in the framework of the TrainForTrade Project for Cambodia and Lao PDR. The consultation workshop was attended and chaired by the Director General of the Domestic Trade Department and Mr. Hassan Qaqaya, Head of the UNCTAD Competition and Consumer Protection Policy Branch. Mr. Sothirachagan Sinnaturai, UNCTAD Consultant, led the discussions on the rationale and role of a consumer protection law. In addition to these consultations, the workshop participants also discussed the content of the preliminary draft of consumer protection Law for Lao PDR. All the main institutions such as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Health, the Prime Minister Office and the Ministry of Justice attended this meeting.

UNCTAD, in cooperation with Dublin Port Company and with the support of Irish Aid, will organize the 1st "Training of Technical Tutors" Workshop in the framework of the UNCTAD/TrainForTrade Port Training Programme. The workshop will be hosted by Kuantan Port Consortium and will take place in Kuantan, Malaysia, from 10 to 13 November 2009. This Training of Technical Tutor (ToTT) workshop aims at empowering local trainers with the necessary skills to ensure the organization and facilitation of on-line elements and sessions of the "Modern Port Management" course. 16 Participants from the port communities of Ghana, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives and Tanzania will participate in this workshop.

En s'associant au programme de la CNUCED, le port de Djibouti intègre un réseau, opérationnel depuis plus de dix ans, qui comprend les ports et communautés portuaires de Conakry (Guinée), Cotonou (Bénin), Dakar (Sénégal), Douala (Cameroun) et Lomé (Togo). Un séminaire sur la "Formation pédagogique TrainForTrade de tuteurs techniques pour la formation à distance", sera organisé du 26 au 28 octobre 2009, pour les cadres du port de Djibouti et des membres du réseau francophone. Il sera suivi par le lancement de la première promotion du "Certificat de gestion moderne des ports" de la CNUCED à laquelle participeront une vingtaine de cadres moyens du port de Djibouti. Una de las preocupaciones mayores de los países en desarrollo es la de fomentar nuevas corrientes de inversión: ¿Cómo reforzar el carácter promocional de los AII? Esta y otras preguntas serán estudiadas en el Programa de Formación para Negociadores de Acuerdos Internacionales de Inversión organizado por la Sección de Desarrollo de Recursos Humanos/TrainForTrade, la Sección de Acuerdos Internacionales sobre Inversión de la UNCTAD y la Secretaría Permanente del SELA, con el apoyo del Ministerio de Industria,Turismo y Comercio del Reino de España. Este Programa de Capacitación cuenta con una formación a distancia del 26 de Octubre al 27 de Noviembre de 2009 y una etapa presencial en República Dominicana, 2 al 5 de Febrero de 2010.

A seminar on "Sustainable Tourism for Development will be held in Luanda, Angola between the 16th and 20th November 2009. It is organized by the TrainForTrade Programme for Angola in collaboration with the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, supported by the Ministry of Commerce of Angola and funded by the European Commission. The purpose of this training is on the one hand, to strengthen the capacity of Angolans in the field of sustainable tourism and on the other hand, provide a concrete view on aspects of this issue through the analysis of concrete cases.

The 3rd National Instructor's workshop is jointly organized by the UNCTAD/TrainForTrade Project in Laos, TDF/National Implementation Unit (NIU) and Economic Research Institute for Trade – Government Sub Executive Unit (ERIT-GSEU). The training was delivered by two qualified local and one international instructor. The workshop was designed to fit local conditions and was reduced to a 6 days training, aiming at keeping the same quality and contents of the full-fletched version. The workshop is taking place at Napakuang resort (Vientiane province). 16 participants (10 women and 6 men) from various departments of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Prime Minister Office, National University of Laos, and SME, are attending this workshop.
